Demetrius Daltirus
Senior Associate, Portfolio and Impact Acceleration
As the son of a Haitian immigrant, Demetrius was raised to take full advantage of the transformative power of education, while being mindful of the many barriers people of color face navigating the U.S. education and workforce systems. After spending much of his childhood just north of Philadelphia, he attended boarding school where the proximity and connection to a myriad of cultures revealed the importance of diverse learning environments. These early lessons continue to inspire Demetrius to drive systemic change for all learners and workers.
Prior to this role, Demetrius worked for the Charter School Growth Fund, investing in the growth of the nation’s best charter schools and funding other organizations addressing key elements of the education reform movement. Demetrius has a background as a program lead, launching a 6-12 innovation program at the Kent Denver School, and started his career as an equity capital markets investment banker. Demetrius has a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University, focused on learning design and educational technology, and holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
